Our Story
Built on Independence, Precision, and Trust
SIMS — Standardized Inspections & Marine Services — was founded to bring internationally recognized survey and inspection standards to East African ports, at a time when shipowners, charterers, and cargo interests needed a genuinely independent partner they could rely on for accurate, defensible reporting.
Over 18+ years, our team of master mariners, marine engineers, and accredited surveyors has completed more than 4,200+ surveys across 30+ports — covering cargo, bunker, hull, vessel, and claims work for shipowners, P&I clubs, insurers, and cargo owners across the region.
What has not changed since our first survey is our commitment to independence: SIMS holds no commercial affiliation with any shipowner, charterer, or insurer, so every report we issue reflects what our surveyors actually find — nothing more, nothing less.
